Storming Bled Grad

Bled Castle sitting above the lake complete with resident swan

It was a long way to the top but it was through a beautiful forest except the sheer rock sections.

View from the top.
Arriving in Bled, we were amazed at the beautiful lake. It is a postcard destination - or a chocolate box if you prefer.
The tiny island in the lake has a picturesque church and the lake has boatmen, swans and ducks especially to add to the picture.
Our greatest achievement was climbing to the top of Bled Castle (Grad).
Look at the photos to appreciate our achievement.

That is one magnificent looking place. I wouldn't mind owning that castle.

Matt said "Nope, not good enough, get back up there and take more photos of the castle itself... annotated floor plans by level would be good too. Oh, and where did they keep the horses?"

We did think of buying the castle but decided that no-one would visit us because of the walk up to the front door.

We'd visit you.
