Classic windmills

We went ashore in the pretty little town of Willemstad. It was very quiet as we looked at the old houses. The town was set out as a fully defensive town in the shape of a 7 point star. Must look at it in google earth! We only saw a few people and two cats! We all ended up at the church. It was protestant as they had kicked out all the Catholics years ago. Oh the sins that are committed in the name of God! It was an interesting organ recital or a chance to sleep off last nights excesses!!

It certainly was a pretty little harbour.

After lunch we sailed on to Kinderdijk. This is a UNESCO listed venue with lots of original windmills. Again a beautiful setting. We escaped the mob and walked down past the 16 or 17 windmills and inspected one.We gave the movie introduction the slip!

                                                                What a pretty picture!

                                                             Six of the windmills

On a lighter note Rob found the going easy in the boggy soil with his new clogs.

Trying them for size. Just right!

                                                         It is easygoing downhill

                                                            Three of the locals

You realise I went to google earth before I even read the rest of your post! And you can see the fortifications very clearly.
