Rediscovering Cornwall

After our B&B breakfast we set out to visit a few of the landmarks of Cornwall. We drove around the bay to Penzance. We made the right decision staying at one of the smaller places! It was very busy but interesting. Our town Marazion was actually the main centre and in fact we should be singing about "The Pirates of Marazion" and not the lesser ones at Penzance!
We drove on to Mousehole where we had stayed so long ago..in 2004. It is still our favourite. We parked on the actual wall of the harbour and wandered the streets and visited the local for lunch. It was low tide so the boats were marooned but the kids had a large playground.

We headed off towards Lands End. We had been told about a theatre built into the cliff face and decided to visit. The Minack theatre is at Porthcurno. It has lots of visitors despite the very narrow road. Several times we had to back up to a passing point but we were pleasantly surprised. It overlooks a beautiful beach.Yes there is at least one in England!
We actually saw a performance and the performers had the world's best backdrop.

The theatre was planned, built and financed by Rowena Cade and the first performance was in 1932.

Not too close to the edge!

We had a short stop at Lands End and also visited St Just. Still lots more to visit tomorrow.

Note: Photos are very slow to load so reduced number for a few days.

Minack theatre is on my bucket list! Did you see Goodnight Mr Tom or the Vera Lyn thing? You know which would have been my pick!
