Sunshine in Brighton

We had an easy trip from London down to Brighton. We are staying right at the beach and can see the beach from our room. The sun is out and it is the warmest day this year.
We walked along the beach front with its beautiful pebbles. Not as comfortable as golden sand but handy to throw at the seagulls that are obviously on steroids. No wonder people guard their fish and chips!

Despite the sun they were dressed neck to ankle and it was not for modesty.

This is Albion Beach with the pier in the background. There were lots of walkers but few on the pebbles.

The pier is very long and interesting. It is one huge amusement park with rides and games.

                                                                 Gail at the entrance.

Like a cross between an RSL club and a gaming arcade also on steroids.

The Royal Pavilion. While the King was at Kew the Prince Regent was living the high life at Brighton.

There are areas called "The Lanes" that are great to wander. All sorts of small shops and restaurants but it is hard to go past Choccywoccydoodah.

Huh, my friends in the UK have been trying to convince me it's really warm there now. I've seen your photos and your jumpers and don't believe them!
I looked at the Choccywoccydoodah menu and my teeth hurt. Or they would after I ate all teh good things!

We happened to pass by the Choccywoccydoodah today and stopped instead at the pub next door. We sat at a seat with a view of all the people stopping to look at the choccywokky but moved to an inside table as we were cold! It has been 20 today but 25 in London. Tomorrow is 7 to 13 so much colder.
You will need a jacket but not too much!

I think I would have made the same choice (the pub next door) :)
